De Biglif|TUDelft slag om Delft is een match-race evenement midden in het centrum van Delft, in de Kolk. Dit jaar vindt de 7e editie plaats op zondag 6 juni.
Bij een matchrace wordt één tegen één gevaren waarbij de boten elkaar voortdurend in het nauw proberen te drijven en zo penalty's aan de andere boot proberen op te leggen. Een penalty betekend een rondje draaien. Door het kleine vaarwater en de interactie tussen de boten de ideale gelegenheid om het wedstrijdzeilen eens van dichtbij te bekijken. Zondag is dan ook de mogelijkheid om met een hapje en een drankje dit spektakel gade te slaan.

1 Organizing Authority
The Organizing Authority (OA) will be: the Student Sailing Regatta Association Broach located in Delft, in cooperation with the Dutch Watersports Association
2. Location
The event will be held in the 'Zuid-Kolk', situated in Delft, the Netherlands.
3. Event Status
An ISAF grade 5 status has been requested for the event.
4. Preliminary schedule
4.1
a) The race office shall be opened from 8.30h, knowingly Sunday June 6th 2010.
b) Registration shall take place on Sunday June 6th from 8.30h.
c) First skipper breefing/meeting with umpires shall take place on Sunday June 6th at 9.10h.
d) Races shall take place the 6th of June, 2010
e) The warning signal of the first race shall be at 9.30h.
4.2 Unless excused by the OA, presence shall be compulsory at the following:
a) First skipper breefing, June 6th, 9.00h.
5. Participation
a) Only skippers invited by the OA have the right to participate in this event
b) A request for participation can be done by the OA before May 24th 2010.
c) To acquire and to keep right of participation, the skipper will have to confirm the invitation in writing (fax and email are valid).
d) The registered skipper will steer the boat during the whole race, with exception in case of an emergency.
e) All participants need to comply with the participation rules as explained by ISAF article 19.2.
6 Registrations
6.1 Registration
The skipper shall be registered at the moment that registration and payment of all registration fees and deposit are accepted. All payments will be made in Euro’s.
6.2 Registration fee
The registration fee amounts € 50,- per team and shall be transferred at the latest May 25th 2010 on account number 383481333, by the name of DSWZ Broach in Delft under notification BigLift|TUDelft ‘Slag om Delft’ 2010 and the name of the skipper. Restitution of registration fees is not possible.
6.3 Deposit
A deposit of € 200,- in cash or with a debit shall be done at the time of registration.
7. Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined:
a) The rules of regatta sailing 2009-2012 (RRS), including Appendix C;
b) The J22 class rules. The rules are available for downloading at www.j22.org;
c) Any prescriptions of the national authority that will apply shall be mentioned on the official communication board.

The Sailing Instructions will prevail above the notice of race in case of a conflict.
8 Boats and sails
a) During the event, there shall be sailed in boats of the type J22.
b) The boats including all the necessary material will be provided and distributed by the OA.
9 Crew (including skipper)
a) The total amount of crewmembers including skipper is 3.
b) For all woman teams the total amount of crewmembers including skipper is 4.
c) The OA has the right to appoint a replacement or a temporary replacement in the case that the registered skipper is unable to proceed with the event.
d) The maximum team weight will be 262.5 kg for open teams and 272 for all woman teams. This modifies J22 Classrule 8.9.
10 Schedule Race
First start 9.35h, final match 17.00h
11 Course
a) The course will be windward/leeward with starboard rounding, finishing downwind.
b) The intended course area will be indicated during the skippers meeting with the umpires.
12 Advertising
a) The boats provided by the OA are delivered with advertising. The J22 class rules do not apply on this advertising.
b) With the exception of advertising on (sailing) clothing, it shall not be allowed for the participating teams to display any kind of advertisement during the event, neither on the boats nor on site.
c) It shall not be allowed for the teams to protest against any rules regarding advertising (this modifies RRS 60.1).
13 Prizes
d) The winning team of this event has the right to call itself the “Biglift Slag om Delft Champions 2010”.
e) There shall be no prize money to be awarded.
f) Teams will be named as “team [name skipper]”

15 Media
The OA shall have the right to put television crews and accompanying equipment (or dummies) on board during the races, and can expect the participating teams to cooperate with interviews. All rights regarding [beeld- en geluidsmateriaal], produced during the event lay in the hands of the OA.
16 Support boats
Support boats are not allowed during the event.
17 Disclaimer of liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority, partners and volunteers will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
